In addition to performing the duties of Assignment Level IV, performs tasks such as the following:
- Plan, organize, and direct rat reduction programs such as rat trap sensors.
- Train exterminators on rat reduction methods such as snap traps, CO2, rat ice, and other.
- Review and track pesticide usage of exterminators and give reports on what needs to be changed.
- Review burrow counts from DOHMH and attend City Hall meetings as NYCHA's representative.
- Visit locations. Give directives and track compliance.
- Prepare specifications for material and supplies.
- Review procedure and practices.
- Provide technical expertise that informs policy changes and improvement in the operation.
- Oversee staff.
- NOTE: IF THIS APPOINTMENT IS MADE ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS PURSUANT TO 65 OF THE NYS CIVIL SERVICE LAW, NO TENURE OR PERMANENCE ACCRUES TO AN INCUMBENT IN THIS POSITION BY VIRTUE OF SUCH APPOINTMENT.

- Minimum Qualifications1.
A valid certificate as a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator for Industrial, Institutional, Structural and Rodent Control (7A) issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
This certificate must be maintained for the duration of employment.
For appointment to certain positions, at the time of appointment eligible must possess a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.- To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level IV individuals must have, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, two years of full-time satisfactory practical experience in the preparation and use of insecticides, rodenticides, baits, traps, and related chemicals/equipment for the extermination of insects, vermin and other pests and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in a supervisory capacity, for a total of four years of experience.
