At Folklore, we are dedicated to offering an exclusive experience to our clients, featuring unique furniture, table wares, props, and more for event and wedding rentals. Our clients select us for our personalized designs, setting us apart from standard rental services.

We are looking for a dynamic Fleet & People Manager who will play a crucial role in overseeing our delivery staff and ensuring optimal delivery operations. This individual should be a proactive team leader and problem solver, capable of stepping in to support various functions ranging from on-site assistance to resolving complex logistics and staffing challenges. The Fleet & People Manager should exemplify the company's vision through meticulous planning and execution of responsibilities. Above all, this manager should be an exceptional team player who upholds Folklore's standards and culture with excellence, significantly contributing to our achievements.

MANAGING: 30 Drivers, 10 Delivery Crew, and 1 Training Supervisor

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
SCHEDULE: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
OFF: Monday-Tuesday
*Schedule subject to change, may require overtime, especially during peak seasons.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Discover a Day in the Life of a Fleet & People Manager:

Dispatching drivers, vehicles, and inventory to scheduled destinations
Arranging 3rd party labor services and accommodations as necessary
Managing fuel and expense receipts and fuel card usage
Supervising timecards, overtime, and scheduling
Operating non-CDL box trucks for rental truck pickups and returns, inspections, and refueling

Understanding How the Fleet & People Manager Maintains Efficient Fleet Operations:

Preparation and receipt of delivery tickets and kits for all teams
Coordinating information between drivers, customers, and the delivery/warehouse team
Addressing unexpected issues proactively and devising action plans

The Significance of the Fleet & People Manager in Ensuring Punctual and Accurate Deliveries:

Offering assistance and support to drivers over the phone
Ensuring consistent follow-through from start to finish
Proactively managing schedules: Familiarity with driver routes, venues, and weather conditions

The Fleet & People Manager's Role in Upholding Driver Safety and Compliance with DOT and California Transportation Regulations:

Reviewing prior 7-day logs to identify HOS violations proactively
Checking post-trip drivers' logs and documenting service hour violations
Discussing safety topics with drivers during dispatches
Participating in new employee training and continued education of team members to ensure quality and compliance

Cultivating a Culture of Excellence: Impact of the Fleet & People Manager on Company Culture:

Promoting open communication among delivery, warehouse, and administrative staff
Establishing a work environment that motivates employees to excel and contribute to the company's success
Regularly engaging with team members, listening to their feedback and concerns, and resolving any issues that arise
Showing care and respect towards team members

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Effective conflict management skills to address a variety of customer concerns related to pre and post-order matters such as deliveries, returns, damages, and order modifications
Proficiency in technology and multitasking to handle various tools and screens efficiently in responding to inventory queries
Strong organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a forward-moving company, managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, setting goals, and implementing systems for goal achievement
Resourcefulness, creativity, and motivation to solve challenges that arise, regardless of their scale
Adaptability to navigate changing environments and priorities, adept at handling unexpected challenges smoothly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
At least two years of experience in a similar managerial role
Experience overseeing a medium to large team of 20-30 employees
Familiarity with DOT and/or California transportation regulations as a driver and/or supervisor
Proficiency in spoken and written English at a high working level
