Hero is the largest provider in Scandinavia in the field of accommodation and care, interpreter services, and qualification for recognized refugees, subsidiary protection beneficiaries, and asylum seekers.

Since 2017, we have also been offering our services in Germany.

According to our motto "Making a new future possible", we support our residents in all challenges of the integration process, actively promoting self-responsibility and independence.

We accompany them through social work, provide assistance with medical needs, advise on qualification and entry into the job market, and support engagement and networking with the neighborhood.


For our accommodations for refugees in Berlin, we are currently looking for several social workers (m/f/d) in full-time or part-time positions.


Responsibilities:

  • Counseling and support for refugees in the communal accommodation
  • Identification of special protection and assistance needs
  • Quality assurance of social work in the facility
  • Cooperation with authorities and the healthcare system
  • Networking and continuous development of common standards together with the social teams of other Hero accommodations

Qualifications:

  • Degree in social pedagogy, social work, social psychology and management, or a comparable degree
  • Professional experience in working with refugees is desirable, but not a requirement
  • Very good knowledge of the German language, knowledge of foreign languages is an advantage
  • Organized and responsible
  • Independent within a team
  • Willingness to work, flexibility, and resilience
  • High social competence
  • Willingness to shape and motivation
