The Garden, Cemetery, and Forestry Office of the state capital Düsseldorf maintains the city's green and open spaces, as well as cemetery and forest areas, with a current staff of around 600 employees.

The South Forestry District oversees the neighborhoods of Eller, Hassels, Benrath, Garath, and Urdenbach, as well as the Unterbacher See and Elbsee, which are important recreational areas for the citizens of Düsseldorf.

Working in a different forestry district is possible.


Your tasks include:

  • Implementation of all usual forestry operations in a recreationaloriented deciduous forest district, such as timber harvesting, cultural work, young stand maintenance, and maintenance of recreational facilities
  • Tree care and safety measures using aerial work platforms
  • Felling of hazardous trees and processing of windfalls
  • Construction and maintenance of recreational facilities
  • Maintenance and repair of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails.

Your profile:

  • Forester
  • Good communication skills when dealing with citizens
  • Ability to work in a team and flexibility
  • High level of responsibility and willingness to perform, as well as unrestricted physical fitness for the tasks
  • Possession of an unrestricted driver's license for class 3 or EU standard B, desirable EU standard BE.
