Description

Under supervision, guided by policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Staff, the Hospital Assistant III assists in the delivery of care to patients in an ambulatory multi-specialty group practice.

Work includes a variety of personal care and nursing procedures including assuring positive care outcomes.

S/he will perform assigned patient care and laboratory procedures in support of the primary and specialty care services provided to patients within the practice.

S/he is required to adhere to the Telephone and House Standards as adopted by the Medical Center. Must be able to work at any UCSF site.


For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.


Required Qualifications

  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • California State CPT1 certification
  • Current TB test.
  • Current CPR license.
  • Minimum of three months experience as a Medical Assistant in General Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology clinical practice. Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Experience with Epic health record computer systems
