Professorship for Artistic Practice with an Expanded Concept of Material (W2) (w/m/d):

The University of Cologne is one of the largest and most research-intensive universities in Germany, offering a diverse range of subjects.

With its six faculties and interfaculty centers, it provides a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines and internationally renowned areas of expertise.


YOUR TASKS

The responsibilities of the professorship include teaching in the inclusive teacher training programs for visual arts and aesthetic education, as well as the BA and MA programs in Intermedia.

This includes teaching the fundamentals and experimental processes in artistic practice and theory, coordinating the teaching offerings in the field of artistic practice, organizing the artistic aptitude test, participating in academic self-administration, and conceptually developing the teaching and research area of the professorship.


YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a person whose artistic work is characterized by an expanded concept of material and a transmedia practice that incorporates connections to other disciplines, artistic fields of practice, and theoretical discourses.

An outstanding artistic qualification, several years of experience in higher education teaching, and a practice that references current aesthetic and socio-political discourses are required.

Connections to the research profile of the faculty in the areas of cultural diversity and participation or artistic research are desirable.

The professorship represents these focal points in research and teaching in the context of education and mediation.
