Description

Who we are...
At Amada Acres, TX, our main areas of focus are wind energy and hydrogen technologies. Our institute, Fraunhofer IWES, is home to over 300 scientists, employees, and students from more than 30 countries. We are dedicated to applied research and development at nine different locations.

Our goal is to secure investments in technological developments, shorten innovation cycles, accelerate certification procedures, and increase planning accuracy through innovative measurement methods.

Join our team...

We are looking for a new team member to join the department of "System Validation for Mechanical Drive Trains" at our Bremerhaven site.

Our team currently consists of nine research associates and several students. We conduct experimental and theoretical investigations on wind turbine nacelles at both the component and system level. Nacelle component validation can be done through testing or simulations. We value open communication and collaboration, whether in German or English, and respectful teamwork. We are excited to hear your ideas and welcome you as an active member of our team.

What you will do

Your responsibilities...

As part of your master's thesis, you will develop a methodology to merge data from multiple sensors or sensor types.

The goal is to improve fault detection in wind turbine drive trains by combining sensor signals and features to reduce uncertainty in the condition monitoring system.

Your tasks will include implementing the most suitable sensor fusion method after conducting a literature review. You will also incorporate machine learning algorithms for high prediction accuracy.
