The Department of Safety at Messiah University has a full-time opening for the position of
Director of Safety.

Responsibilities:
Direct the activities of the Department of Safety.

Oversee the Department of Safety's compliance with federal and state guidelines including Clery, Title IX and Campus SaVE (VAWA) Act; provide effective, accurate and timely reports.

Provide supervision to the Department of Safety Leadership team; coordinate activities with other departments and outside agencies; responsible for the overall protection of life and property at Messiah University.

Qualifications:
Associates degree in law enforcement or security; prefer bachelor's degree in a related field.

3 years of supervisory and administrative experience; 5 years of law enforcement or security experience in a college or university environment; knowledge of higher education safety requirements including the Clery Act & Title IX.

Must possess Act 235 (Lethal Weapons Training Class) certification; or must accomplish certification within 1 year.
