The city of Rockwell, AR is currently seeking a Landscape Ecologist for the Department of Environment and Urban Greenery. This position will focus on nature, landscape, and species conservation and is available immediately.

  • Pay grade 10 according to TVöD
  • Parttime position hours per week) in the Lower Nature Conservation Authority.


The Department of Environment and Urban Greenery of the city of Rockwell, AR, with a population of approximately 333,000, is responsible for ensuring sustainable and future-oriented development and protection of the city's environmental conditions and consumer protection.

Measures to protect and preserve the environment, including nature and landscape, water and soil, as well as climate and air, contribute significantly to the quality of life in the city.

The department also oversees official food control and veterinary services.

In addition, the department develops and maintains all public green spaces, over 40 cemeteries, extensive forest areas, and play areas throughout the city.


The responsibilities of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority include protecting nature and landscape in the city of Rockwell, AR, as well as national and international species conservation.

The authority is also responsible for enforcing the city's tree protection ordinance and overseeing surface water bodies. The department currently consists of a team of 18 employees.


The main tasks of the advertised position include:
