Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing payroll for our organization. This is a vital role in ensuring that our employees are paid accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll using our payroll software (UltiPro) and ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes
- Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Prepare and submit payroll reports as required by management or regulatory agencies
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system
- Assist with general ledger reconciliation related to payroll accounts
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles related to payroll
- Knowledge of benefits administration processes
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and technical accounting tasks
- Familiarity with government accounting regulations is a plus
- Proficient in using payroll software (experience with UltiPro is preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Pay:
$ $27.00 per hour
