Responsibilities of the LPN:

Patient Care: LPNs assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. They may also help patients with mobility, positioning, and transferring.

Vital Signs Monitoring: LPNs regularly measure and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and respiratory rate.

Medication Administration: LPNs administer medications orally, topically, intramuscularly, or through other routes as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice nurses.

Assessment and Observation: LPNs assess patients' health status, report any changes in condition to the healthcare team, and document observations accurately and comprehensively.

Documentation and Charting: LPNs maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes.

Collaboration with Healthcare Team: LPNs collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication among team members.

Patient Advocacy: LPNs advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs, ensuring that they receive compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care.
