    Job Title:
    Planning and Estimating Specialist

    Job Description:

    Reviews Automated Work Requests (AWRs) and creates specifications and changes for work orders.

    Develops accurate labor and material estimates for shipboard/shop work on Government and Commercial vessels using drawings and specifications and on-site ship checks for interferences and access issues.

    Requests and assesses subcontractor price quotations.

    Requirements:

    • BA/BS in a related field or AA/AS with two (2) years of experience, or six (6) years of relevant experience.
    • Familiarity with navy ship repair environment.
    • Knowledge of shipboard nomenclature and systems.
    • Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create NMD availabilities, Work Specifications, and Estimates.
    • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for job performance.
    • Participate in job site inspections and ship checks.
    • Prepare requisitions for subcontracts, rentals, and materials.
    • Work closely with Production and Schedulers to ensure accurate scheduling.
    • Resolve technical and schedule issues with contracts and management.
    • Adherence to NASSCO's 'Standards and Business Conduct'.

    Pay Range:
    $70,720 - $92,200 Annually

    Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and abilities.
