    PLANNER/ESTIMATOR



    PLANNER/ESTIMATOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
    • Review and write specifications for work items.
    • Develop accurate labor and material estimates for shipboard/shop work and repairs on Government and Commercial vessels.
    • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor price quotations.
    PLANNER/ESTIMATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BA/BS in a related field, or AA/AS with experience, or six years of related experience.
    • Experience in Navy ship repair environment.
    • Advanced MS Excel Proficiency.
    • Knowledge of shipboard systems, equipment, and costs.
    • Effective communication and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in reading drawings and blueprints.
    • Experience with Navy Maintenance Database (NMD).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Availability for extended and weekend hours.
    WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Collaborate with various departments and the customer.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Create work specifications and estimates.
    • Participate in job site inspections.
    • Prepare requisitions for subcontracts and materials.
    • Interface with subcontractors and resolve issues.
    ACCOUNTABILITY: Provide accurate and timely work specifications and estimates.

    STANDARD EQUIPMENT ISSUE: Cell Phone, Desktop Computer, Dual Monitor, CAC, or Smart Card Reader.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Willingness to travel, reliable transportation, attendance, and punctuality.
