POSITION:
Painter - Maintenance Tech II





LOCATION:
Southington Public Schools





SALARY:
$ $33.42 per hour


DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:


  • Prepare and paint various surfaces including, but not limited to, wallboard, wood, metal, plastic, etc.
  • Perform skill tasks in accordance with standard trade practices to assure satisfactory performance of the finished product.
  • Direct and supervise the work of such helpers as assigned.
  • Oversee the planning, preparation and painting of all work assigned.
  • Establish and maintain an inventory and records of all supplies and equipment as assigned.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local code, ordinances and regulations.
  • Adhere to the work standards and schedules assigned.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate record keeping system relating to the purchase, delivery and installation of all materials.
  • Rig staging, erect scaffolding and protect area surfaces while working.
  • Estimate time and material cost on painting and redecorating.
  • Perform all related activities assigned by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Possess a high school diploma and/or experience in the painting field.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, principals and staff.
  • Possess thorough knowledge and ability on the use of hand and power tools and equipment related to the field.
  • Demonstrate evidence of being in good physical health to meet the demands of the position.
  • Possess a valid Connecticut driver's license with a good driving record (past three years).

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:


Pay:
$ $33.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
