  • JOB SUMMARY
  • This is a temporary assignment that will start July 22nd 2024 and will be for an estimate duration of 5 months (Ending December 2024).
  • The museum store associate provides Museum Store, Gallery, and Hall of Crucifixion-Resurrection (HOCR) coverage as needed to ensure quality customer service to visitors. In addition, will provide administrative support for Museum exhibitions and events.
  • WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Works closely with other members of the Forest Lawn Museum team to carry out daily operations of Museum and Museum Store.
  • Operates cash register in the Museum Store accurately to ensure all items sold are charged and paid for correctly. Operation includes opening the register ensuring that all cash and coin are accounted for and closing the register to ensure all receipts match daily sales, money is placed in the safe and registered reconciled.
  • Unlocks the HOCR and ensure it is presentable for visitors. Check restrooms, turn on lighting, and ensure there is no trash.
  • Provides oversight of visitors in the HOCR (adjacent to the Museum).
  • Effectively communicates with the public regarding funeral services, scheduling, and other cemetery industry standards.
  • Assists with planning, setting up, and carrying out special events including Museum receptions, Employee Meetings, Dia de los Muertos, etc.
  • Able to work in a team environment and be kind, respectful, courteous, and patient when working with the public and coworkers.
  • Performs diversified administrative support duties and assists with special projects as needed.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 12 years of retail experience.
  • Excellent retail and customer service skills
  • Type 35 wpm
  • Valid CA Drivers License
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual in Spanish or Armenian
  • Experience with professional art handling

DRUG TESTING POLICY
