If so, Guardian is seeking a Sales Trainee, Select Market who will participate in the Group Sales Early Career Development Program, which is a 10- month structured training and mentorship program to become a Sales Representative in our Group Benefits Select Market segment.


The program provides:

This position will report to the Regional Director, Select Markets.

Throughout the program, this individual will effectively learn Guardian's business, culture, product and service offerings, and processes.


The Sales Trainee will be trained to become a Sales Representative, which is responsible for selling employee benefit products and services to corporations with employees between - 1,999 lives.

You will accomplish this by developing a network of benefit brokerage relationships. The Sales Representative becomes a resource of choice for the broker and their clients.

You will

  • Complete the Early Career Training Program which includes course work, academies and fieldbased curriculum.
  • Develop a clear understanding of our business and our diverse Group products.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of our relationships within the brokerage community and the clients we service.
  • Obtain required industry licensing (paid by Guardian) and maintain license through completing Continuing Education requirements.
  • Improve communication and presentation skills needed to present and facilitate meetings inperson and virtually with external brokers, clients, and internal partners.
  • Develop consultative selling skills to help you achieve or exceed personal sales production expectations established by management.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Guardian's mission and Group Sales' strategic vision.
  • Become proficient in Guardian's technology offerings and be able to explain them to brokers and clients to help them solve a variety of problems.
  • Develop and maintain multiple benefits brokerage relationships within assigned territory.
  • Participate in the implementation of new cases and enrollment meetings.
You have

  • Fouryear college degree upon start of program
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, collaboration and team building skills
  • Strong ability to influence and persuade through effective communication skills
  • Curiosity to ask the right questions to uncover needs and provide solutions
  • The ability to achieve goals using robust planning and organizational skills
  • High energy, with a refuse to lose attitude
Location /Travel

Up to 25% travel in the first year.

This position may call for you to come on campus or attend an in-person Guardian-sponsored event.
