THE POSITION:


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As a part-time Residential Program Worker, you will assist those who are returning to the community after mental health hospitalization or preventing premature hospitalization.

This work supports the consumers' efforts to reintegrate into or remain in their communities, fosters success in recovery, and helps consumers build the confidence and self-reliance needed for full independent living.


In this role, you will have an opportunity to work closely with consumers in their home environments to support each person's efforts to implement goals, plans, and objectives which are consistent with their Individual Service Plan (ISP).

This includes training consumers in home safety protocols, providing transportation when necessary, documenting and charting consumers' progress, and sharing observations with your supervisor or team members as appropriate.


We ensure 24-hour coverage to provide the best possible care for our limited number of consumers who each reside in their own apartments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Parttime employment
  • Work hours are approximately 1520 hours per week including parttime oncall with evenings, overnights, and weekends as part of the schedule. Tuesday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Travel: Occasional overnight travel or out of county travel for meetings or training.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Six months of experience as a Residential Program Trainee;
    or:
  • One year of experience in a Human Services Agency working with the mentally disabled, the elderly, or children and youth;
    or:
  • Two years of college which includes courses appropriate to the Human Services field;
    or:
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:


  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
