    1. Salaries that are among the highest in the city, in addition to competitive benefits and formal pathways for career advancement.
    2. A manageable course-load and schedule, including small classes to customize learning and build strong relationships.
    3. Daily collaboration and designated planning time with team members
    4. Active coaching and development with ample curricular support and resources.
    5. Living and working in the heart of central Brooklyn, and building enduring connections with our students, families, and community.

    OUR SCHOOL AND APPROACH

Situated in the heart of central Brooklyn, Unity is a small, open-enrollment, community-based charter school that proudly serves students in grades 6-12. At Unity, we pride ourselves on delivering a personalized, inclusive, and well-rounded education, with a distinct focus on each child's long-term growth and development as both skillful learners and active members of society.

Given these qualities, Unity's most important resource is the talent and dedication of our faculty and staff. At its core, a school is only as good as the learning experience of students over the course of each day. We invest significant time and resources to ensure that we, as a team, are providing all of our students with daily learning experiences that are healthy, safe, engaging, supportive, and appropriately challenging.

OUR TEAM AND WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

As a team of mission-driven, career educators, we are tenacious in our pursuits and strong in our shared convictions:

    1. We are key agents in advancing social justice.
      1. We see our work as a calling, not just a job.
      2. As public school educators, we work tenaciously to ensure that all doors are open to our students.
    2. We strive each and every day to be our best for our students and each other.
      1. We take pride in perfecting our craft and putting our full heart into everything we do.
      2. We know that time is precious - we seize every learning moment for ourselves and our students.
    3. We are relentless in promoting academic growth among all of our students.
      1. We measure our success through our students' consistent, accelerated yearly growth.
      2. As "warm demanders," we balance our high expectations with high support.
    4. We are a team of educators who all take full responsibility to develop our students as whole-hearted human beings.
      1. We embrace the vibe of being a small, community-based, open-enrollment school.
      2. We hustle to offer a rich and bountiful education in the liberal arts and sciences along with extensive extracurricular opportunities.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Moreover, you will model and actively build healthy habits and character skills among our students through the promotion of Unity's strong and vibrant school culture. Finally, you will consistently grow and develop your own craft as an exceptional educator and be recognized and celebrated for your contributions to our school community through our formal career pathways and promotion system.
