The district of Gießen is looking to fill a full-time position in the Department 10 - Central Services as of July 1, 2024 for an indefinite period as a

Fire Protection Officer (m/f/d)

The main tasks include:

Advising the management
Creating/updating fire protection regulations for the district of Gießen's properties (mostly administrative buildings and schools)
Creating fire department plans and escape and rescue plans
Training fire protection and evacuation assistants
Organizing evacuation drills
Monitoring the safe operation of buildings and fire protection equipment
Inspecting properties and identifying/remedying deficiencies
Supporting and representing the existing fire protection officer
Taking on tasks at assigned properties for preventive and organizational fire protection (inspection, testing, training)

Requirements for this position:

Completed three-year technical vocational training or completed training as an administrative assistant (m/f/d)
Training as a fire protection officer according to DGUV-I (can be completed later)
Member of a fire department with the course "Group Leader"
