    Georgia Tech Office of Development (DEV)

    Led by the Vice President for DEV, Jen Howe ), our fundraising team at Georgia Tech currently consists of 88 professionals who are focused on securing transformative philanthropy (major and principal gifts) to support the strategic priorities of the Institute and its colleges, schools, and programs including Athletics. For fiscal year 2022 (closed 6/30/2022), the DEV teams efforts resulted in over $211 million in new gifts and commitments which helped to publicly launch Georgia Techs largest comprehensive campaign in the Institutes history Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech which is intended to bring over $2 billion in new commitments and gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations. One of the most significant priorities within Transforming Tomorrow is ensuring access of the brightest undergraduate, graduate and professional students to Georgia Tech, regardless of their socioeconomic background.     Job Summary



    Entry-level front-line fundraising position responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of a coordinated program of fundraising activities, leveraging the counsel and support of a seasoned development director serving as team leader and supervisor. Uses professional relationship building and communication skills to help the team identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospective donors. Collaborates with dean(s) and school chair(s), and faculty, and coordinates with other development and alumni relations staff. This role provides an opportunity to broaden knowledge of fundraising approaches. This position is expected to contribute to team fundraising results while building long term, meaningful donor relationships.

    This position will interact on a regular basis with: Alumni, Parents, Corporate and Foundation representatives, staff, and Volunteers

    This position typically will advise and counsel: potential donors or donor representatives; Office of Development Officers and Staff; Deans, School Chairs and Faculty

    Responsibilities



    Job Duty 1 -
    Assist with the design and/or implementation of comprehensive fundraising plans for assigned college, school, program, region, or constituency

    Job Duty 2 -
    Use professional relationship building skills to assist the team in developing and implementing plans and strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual and major gift donors and prospective donors

    Job Duty 3 -
    Manage assigned unit's or program's annual corporate affiliates program or other annual giving initiative with parents, faculty/staff, Alexander-Tharpe Fund (A-T) members, and in some specific instances other alumni, in close collaboration with other development officers and unit leadership. Close annual and/or major gifts and commitments, both personally and in coordination with supervisor, with a typical annual gift up to $25,000 and a typical donor giving capacity range of $25,000 to $99,000.

    Job Duty 4 -
    Support and/or staff advisory board meetings to involve and cultivate annual and major gift donors and prospective donors, including writing minutes for advisory board meetings, and maintaining on-boarding materials for new advisory board members

    Job Duty 5 -
    Provide support for events to cultivate and steward donors and prospective donor's, including career fairs, homecoming events, football suite entertaining, award receptions, small donorrs' events, etc.

    Job Duty 6 -
    May serve as an advisor to young alumni and/or student organizations

    Job Duty 7 -
    Establish and maintain a high degree of collaboration with other development officers and staff, as well as dean(s), school chair(s), faculty, and other Institute academic and executive officers

    Job Duty 8 -
    Submit timely contact reports, prospect plans, and solicitations into tracking system

    Job Duty 9 -
    Participate in the preparation of written development materials including case statements, proposals, donor impact reports, and fundraising initiative/campaign related literature for assigned college, school, and/or program(s)

    Job Duty 10 -
    Perform other related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications



    Educational Requirements
    Degrees required for this job: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required Experience
    Two or more years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and/or relevant experience in sales and marketing, or other related fields.

    Preferred Qualifications



    Preferred Experience
    Two or more years of proven development experience and results in soliciting and closing annual gifts and/or major gifts, and/or experience in a Development Services role in a higher education setting and a campaign environment

    Salary Range:

    $54,200- $73,712

    Specialized skills required for this job:
    This job requires use of office related computer applications is required. Travel may be required. Participation in evening and weekend activities is an essential part of this position. Strong interpersonal skills, ethical standards, and good judgement. Excellent skills in building long-term relationships, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills. Requires skills in prioritizing, negotiating, strategic planning, project management, program administration and organization.
