Position Summary:


The Events and Marketing Associate executes high-profile live events and invite-only private events that serve as an extension of RFF's vital research.

This position plays a crucial role in elevating the RFF organizational profile and brand by supporting the execution of in-person and virtual public and private events.

This position is located in Washington DC.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the development of creative, impactful, and lively policy events for RFF that help to elevate the organization's public profile and further our goal of improving environmental, energy, and natural resource decision making.
  • Provide logístical support for academic seminars, board meetings, and other internal meetings of moderate size.
  • Coordinate all logístical details for RFF events, including organizing venues, audio visual support, catering, photography, event staging and design, printing, and travel.
  • Serves as main point of contact along with the Marketing and Events Specialist on the day of each public and private event and problem solves when challenges arise to ensure smooth execution of events.
  • Manage coordination of virtual and hybrid events, including event registration and event logistics through Eventbrite and Zoom.
  • Develop, conduct and evaluate surveys of event attendees.
  • Maintain analytics of event attendance and share with other departments as needed.
  • Ensure all event materials (handouts, programs, PowerPoints, other visual aids) are cohesive with RFF's brand identity and voice.
  • Periodically assist with the procurement of merchandise for RFF events and internal marketing activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Hospitality, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field preferred but not required and 02 years of relevant events experience
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Technical Requirements:
Proficiency in the following software programs is necessary for this role:

  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Internal communications platforms such as Microsoft Teams
  • Live conference and streaming services, such as Zoom
  • Experience using project management tools, such as Asana
  • Experience using survey and online form tools, such as Jotform, SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Form, etc.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design products preferred but not required
  • Writing experience is preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits:

- $54,500-58,000 a year or potentially higher depending on experience

  • 35hour work week
  • Flexible summer hours (4day work week June-Sept)
