The Hochfranken Clinics operate the Münchberg and Naila clinics in municipal self-administration.

The two hospitals, with a total of 400 planned beds, have the main departments of internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, acute geriatrics, anesthesia and intensive care, as well as the affiliated departments of ENT, pneumology and gynecology.

Our internal medicine departments treat all diseases of internal medicine. The focus on diabetology is also established at the Hochfranken Clinics.


The focus on cardiology is provided invasively and non-invasively (with all echocardiography procedures, including stress echocardiography, TEE and 4D ultrasound).

A cardiac MRI is also available at the Hochfranken Clinics. The cardiac catheterization laboratory (2 new measuring stations) is available 24 hours a day. Approximately 1500 patients/year are treated in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, including approximately 400 coronary interventions.

All coronary revascularization techniques are performed (including rotablation), pressure wire measurement (FFR and iFR) and IVUS procedures, as well as IABP, are routinely used.

In addition, there is the possibility of intravascular lithotripsy (IVL). Retrograde CTOs are also performed. In addition, the microaxial pump Impella CP is routinely used.
