  • Position Summary


As the New Product Introductions (NPI) Manager in the Product Development organization, you are essential for ensuring that designs flow smoothly into manufacturing with high quality and at optimal cost.

In doing so you will be the glue between Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality, Supply Chain Management, HSE, Assembly, and Contract Manufacturers.

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop the organizational capabilities that are vital for the future growth of Oceaneering Mobile Robotics.


  • Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Develop, grow, and manage the product industrialization group including department process development, hiring, coaching, and personnel performance management.
  • Manage new product introduction and product changes towards the manufacturing (either contract or internal) organization(s).
  • Support development teams throughout the design process by providing regular input on design for manufacture/assembly, and product assurance strategy.
  • Manage product assurance activities including lifecycle/performance testing, field trials, and thirdparty certification.
  • Ensure manufacturing process and instructions are developed, pilots executed, and productivity monitoring methods are established and implemented.
  • Collect feedback from manufacturing and field and propose structural improvements towards the development team.
  • Manage daily operational issues and provide timely and appropriate direction that minimizes accrual of technical debt.
  • Propose and lead continuous improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for yearly budget proposal and departmental plan
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
  • Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or other Engineering discipline with appropriate experience.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Over 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with scaled production (min units/year) of complex products containing mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Experience in design transfer and manufacturing transfer projects.
  • Experience with creating structure and building organizations from the groundup.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, tool design, test design, and quality standards (e.g., ISO9001, ISO26262).
  • Experience in complying with

European Product Safety Directives:
e.g., Machinery, LVD, EMC etc.

  • Experience in product verification and validation.

DESIRED

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Demonstrable leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable discussing content at multiple levels, from highlevel context down to technical details without getting lost.
  • Able to balance analytical and pragmatic approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Safety risk assessments.
  • Additional Information
This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
