SUMMARY OF POSITION:


A member of the Maintenance Team, the Painter reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance and is responsible for assisting in the operation of the Paint Department.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the knowledge and ability to paint and finish various surfaces with a brush, roller or sprayer
Responsible for matching stains and paint
Responsible for organizing and layout of work for self
Assist in other departments as required
Responsible for working flexible work hours, as required
Responsible for being available for emergency calls 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents and the community in positive, supportive and cooperative ways
Light wall repair and patching required
Other duties as assigned


ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knowledge, skill, and ability to remove graffiti from various surfaces and materials

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required
Knowledge and a minimum of five (5) years professional experience in the painting field is required
Ability to layout and plan work with mínimal supervision
Must have valid drivers license, good driving record and reliable transportation
Knowledge, skill, and ability to remove graffiti from various surfaces and materials
Must pass a pre-employment physical
Demonstrated good in person attendance and punctuality
Deomonstrated ability to participate as a member of team
Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment


MACHINES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Speciality tools of the trade will be provided.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment).

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work is performed indoors although there will be required outdoor activities.


MENTAL FUNCTIONS:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
