We Require

  • Three years of engineering work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • A combination of postsecondary education and/or jobrelated experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a yearforyear basis
We Also Value

  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience working with various types of roadway maintenance surface treatments.
  • Licensure as an Engineer-InTraining and/or Certification as a Construction Manager.
  • Certified American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATTSA), Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS), or an International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level II (Signs and Markings)
Job Contributions

  • Plans and directs the daily activities of technical staff; trains and coaches staff; and evaluates performance
  • Supervises contracted minor projects' coordinates final project planning and design, project scope, schedule and cost estimating and control
  • Conducts field reviews and provides construction recommendations
  • Identifies various types of pavement roadway condition failures, causes and recommended repair methods
  • Coordinates and reviews project list/map, plans details, budget cost, schedules timeline, objectives of work while providing superior customer service
  • Oversees, guides and supports project managers, inspectors and other project team members
  • Assures compliance with operational rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
  • Organizes budget preparation and administration; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; prepares cost estimates for projects; monitors and controls expenditures; compiles and analyzes data and prepares status reports
  • Other Job Duties as assigned
Working Conditions

  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license
  • Exerting 2025 lbs. occasionally, 1025 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly
  • The work will occur in an office and field environment
  • While performing the duties & responsibilities the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
Selection ProcedureMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
