Job Description/Scope of Work:

Responsibilities:

Perform welding repairs, modifications, and fabrications as needed to support production activities.

Conduct routine inspections of welding equipment, including welding machines, gas cylinders, and related tools.

Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to develop and implement welding procedures and standards.

Ensure compliance with NAVSEA regulations and industry standards for welding operations.

Maintain a clean and organized welding shop environment, including proper storage of materials and tools.

Assist in the setup and calibration of welding equipment for specific projects and materials.

Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices in welding techniques and safety protocols


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a welding or fabrication environment

NAVSEA qualification or equivalent experience is required.

Proficiency in various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.

Familiarity with welding materials and techniques for different metals and alloys

Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
