Northwest Indiana based steel fabricating company seeking MRO Buyer for the Purchasing Department.
Ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree
5 plus years purchasing experience in steel fabricating/manufacturing or heavy industrial environment or 5 plus years purchasing experience for large mobile equipment company.
5 plus years experience purchasing MRO, welding equipment and welding/paint consumables
Experience purchasing electric, pneumatic and hydraulic parts is a plus
Experience negotiating and vendor sourcing
Experience sourcing through internet
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Computer Literacy: Experience in entering orders in a database, experience in posting receipts in a database, MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook. M2M experience a plus.
Responsibilities of this position include:
· Purchase on a competitive basis all MRO requirements.
· Maintain blanket order integrity.
· Expediting & auditing orders from entry to receipt and from receipt to invoice approval.
· Maintain proactive communication with outside suppliers and internal departments.
· Establish service oriented blanket orders.
· Seek and advise of new product & technology offered by existing and newly sourced suppliers.
· Perform duties in accordance with established Purchasing Procedures & Policies.
· Assist in interdepartmental cross functional responsibilities.
· Place orders for production supplies whenever requisitions are received from various departments.
· Position reports directly to the Senior Buyer.
