Responsibilities:

The duties of this position include academic services for the above-mentioned project. Research associates may also conduct independent research and pursue further academic qualifications.

In this project, gold nanorods will be used to track the dynamics of ion channels. XFEL radiation will be utilized to probe the dynamics of these membrane proteins at the single molecule level. Duties include the synthesis and characterization of gold nanorods, as well as the functionalization of ion channel proteins.

The project is part of the Röntgen-Ångström Cluster (RÅC), a Swedish-German research collaboration in the fields of materials science and structural biology, with the goal of strengthening research at synchrotron and neutron radiation sources.
