A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ACCOUNT RECOVERY SPECIALIST
As an Account Recovery Specialist, you assist our Account Recovery Team with all aspects of collecting on loans and facilitating the best possible outcomes for delinquent accounts.
You feel good about helping our credit union stay solvent and in turn be able to serve our community, as well as helping our members get back on top of their finances.
You spend some time working independently on bookkeeping and recordkeeping tasks. You process transactions such as payments, corrections, reversals, mail items, levies, and garnishments. You participate in the document preparation and filing of court-related items. You maintain accurate and organized collection files. You help with the efficient handling of repossessions and foreclosures, keeping in mind security, expense, and disposal issues. Additionally, you help prepare monthly reports for your department. You also get to spend part of your day interacting with people. You handle outbound and inbound calls with enthusiasm. You use your training and empathy to negotiate solutions to credit problems. Most of our members with delinquent accounts want to pay their debts, but they're scared and overwhelmed.
Often, you are able to assist them in setting up a repayment plan that works for them and leaves them breathing a sigh of relief.
Most members respond well when they realize you are trying to help them. You also use your multitasking skills to research transactions while on calls.QUALIFICATIONS
