Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and supervising a comprehensive curriculum from traditional darkroom techniques through advanced digital and experimental technology.
  • Courses in both 35mm and DSLR camera technique and use.
  • Instruction of Adobe Suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro
  • Staying up to date with new and developing techniques and trends in photography
  • Organize students in creating cohesive portfolios, research projects, exhibitions
  • Promote student participation in interschool, community exhibitions and competitions
  • Participate in professional development and faculty evaluation process
  • Other duties include writing student reports; effective communication and collaboration with students, colleagues, and families; and attendance at meetings.
  • Work constructively with parents and colleagues.
  • Inform parents and Division Director of students' progress through written reports, conferences and maintaining online learning platform for your classes.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities, and participate in the faculty evaluation process
  • Assume other duties as assigned
  • B.F.A or a B.A. in a closely related field is required; M.F.A. or M.A. is preferred
  • Previous experience teaching photography is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in a school setting with high school age students is preferred
  • Thorough technical knowledge of DSLR and 35mm cameras, darkroom technique, printing, and Adobe Suite software programs required
  • Professional photography experience is desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the School community
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings for meetings, conferences as required

  • Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, strength, and endurance to actively supervise and lead students and be responsible for their physical safety during all schoolrelated activities, including evacuations and other emergency response procedures
