STARTING SALARY:
$1,694.62 Bi-Weekly.
(In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever is higher.)

DESCRIPTION


This is a highly responsible position within the Office of Inspector General that is responsible for conducting detailed management reviews of allegations and systematic issues against program areas and personnel within the Department of Juvenile Justice.

This position exercises independent judgement in the performance of the following:

Documents in writing management reviews for all areas within the Department of Juvenile Justice in accordance with established policies and procedures and within established timeframes.

Reports contain information such as policies, witness statements, videos, and other documents gathered as evidence during the review.

Provides training and consultation in the area of incident reporting and investigative reviews.

Performs all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.

Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to travel.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience reflecting ability to conduct criminal or administrative investigations.

Work experience reflecting ability to exercise independent problem-solving.

Work experience reflecting ability to complete organized and detailed reports.

Work experience reflecting ability to interact with others in a courteous, honest, and respectful manner.

Specialized training relative to conducting investigations.


SPECIAL NOTES
DJJ participates in E-Verify (Employment Eligibility).

When identified on a position description, a valid driver's license is required.

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.

Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
