Scientific Employee (f/m/d) as Group Leader for the Data Storage Group

Your tasks:

  • Professional leadership of the employees of the Data Storage Group
  • Conception, planning and operation of the hardware platform for the scientific data of GSI and FAIR
  • Development of concepts for the further development of highperformance storage systems at GSI in close cooperation with the scientific community
  • Implementation of a "Federated Data Storage" concept for global access to the scientific data of GSI and FAIR experiments
  • Collaboration with experiments in the petabyte range.

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed degree (Master, Diploma) in computer science, physics or a comparable field of study
  • Expertise in data storage technologies and systems (Lustre, Ceph, etc.)
  • Experience in team leadership and project management related to data storage
  • Knowledge of developing and implementing storage strategies and solutions
