The
_After School Youth Program Group Leader (011) _will be responsible for planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating departmental programs, activities and events and providing individual guidance and referrals as needed.
_After School Youth Program Group Leader (011)_ at our Thomas S. Murphy Clubhouse (011) located in Brooklyn, NY.
_This is a part-time position working 20-25 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening._
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the
_After School Youth Program Group Leader (011) _Position**: - Recruit members for Social Recreation programs, activities and events for members ages 5-9 (Explorers), Juniors), and Teens).
- Motivate members to participate in programs, activities and events.
- Ensure the delivery and evaluation of assigned Teen Campus programs & services.
- Submit all required reports and records timely to the appropriate staff member.
- Collaborate with outside entities to enhance programs and services; families, schools and other organizations and institutions as directed.
- Provide group and individual instruction.
- Assist with the completion of homework.
- Participate in organizational meetings and conferences as requested.
- Ensure a healthy, safe environment in program areas.
- Supervise the care and maintenance of equipment and facility.
- Plan, promote, and conduct special events.
- Encourage and develop good sportsmanship and fair play amongst youngsters.
- Stimulate interest in activities through up to date bulletin boards, announcements and flyers.
_After School Youth Program Group Leader (011)_ Position**: - High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college experience is preferred and at least 1 year of experience in youth development.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct and supervise recreational/leadership programs and services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 1318 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
