The Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for two full-time positions. The current vacancies are in the Family Health Services and Behavioral Health Services Divisions.

The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide superior, comprehensive, primary medical and dental care in order to improve the health and quality of life of Solano County residents.

We have a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are a safety net provider.

To support our mission, FHS offers four conveniently located clinics in Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo and mobile medical and dental vans in which we provide primary care and dental services.

The outpatient primary care clinics see patients five days a week, with some weekend and evening hours offered.

A Lead Medical Assistant is needed full time for the expansion of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and to guide the work assignments for all Medical Assistants within BH, coordinate with family health clinics and other FQHCs and primary care for integration of all related BH services.


  • MA Lead provides support and training to MA's on clinical tasks including: vital, ANC testing, coordinating lab services, EKGs etc.
  • MA lead supports MA's work with other agencies to obtain information, coordinate services, determine appropriate venue for service, provide crosstraining about the needs of clients served.
  • Coordinate with physicians, caseworkers, community and support services, and appropriate primary care referral needs for clients upon transitions from services, jails, or hospitals.
  • Conduct medical review of clients, facilitate appropriate referrals and transport clients as needed to promote service engagement.
  • This position serves as a liaison to emergency departments, county jail, local medical providers and internal clinics to assist clients to access MAT services.

THE POSITION

In addition to performing all tasks associated with the Medical Assistant classification, the Medical Assistant (Lead) provides lead guidance and training to Medical Assistants and student interns as well as assists with clinic flow, referral processing, and staffing.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience:
One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to the County of Solano class of Medical Assistant.
**LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**:
  • California Driver's License, Class C
  • Possession of a valid Medical Assistant certificate issued by an accredited college or institution. Curriculum must have included training in laboratory drawing of blood and collection of other specimens, venipuncture, injection administration, and performing Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and/or Xray procedures including chest Xrays (CXR) and extremities.
  • Possession of a valid Phlebotomy Certificate
  • Possession of a valid CPR Certificate


The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.

A minimum score of 70% is required to continue in the selection process, unless otherwise announced.
