As an industrial mechanic in Smartsville, you are responsible for ensuring the proper condition of fittings, machines, control units, and devices in industrial plants in terms of reliability and safety.

In the first year of training, you will learn the basics of metalworking, control and information technology, and technical communication.

In the second to fourth year of training, you will deepen these knowledge and skills, practice reading and creating technical documents, manufacture parts, and assemble them into components.

Additionally, you will acquire basic knowledge in turning, milling, welding, measurement, and control technology (e.g. electro-pneumatics).

Additional qualifications after training.

After completing your training and attending further education schools, you can continue your education to become a master (industry/craft) or a diploma engineer (mechanical engineering).


Requirements for this profession:

  • You have at least a secondary school diploma or a comparable degree in the field of metal technology.
  • You enjoy physical work and are skilled in craftsmanship.
  • You have endurance and patience when it comes to solving a problem.
  • You have a good technical understanding.
  • You have good grades in mathematics and physics and are comfortable working with numbers.
The duration of the training is 3.5 years and the vocational school is located in Cloppenburg.
