Under the general direction of the General Counsel, the incumbent plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, reviews, and supervises the work of Office of the General Counsel (OGC) legal staff in the performance of litigation and transactional work related to the Delta Conveyance Project, the California Water Commission, and the California Public Records Act.

Desirable Qualifications
Able to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and organizations.

  • Must be able to professionally communicate with DWR executive management, colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have supervisory and litigation experience.
  • Experience with the Public Records Act (PRA).
  • Experience with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
  • Experience with the California Endangered Species Act (CESA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
  • Experience in water rights.
  • Experience with and/or training in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
