Purpose/Introduction:

This position has a strategic, long term focus with emphasis on overall turbomachinery reliability improvement and turnaround support.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for centrifugal compressors and specialty turbines (turbomachinery) reliability for the Cedar Bayou site
  • Creates site strategy for turbomachinery reliability improvement with maintenance and operations involvement
  • Champions or participates in development and implementation of Asset Strategies (including FMEAs) for critical turbomachinery
  • Optimizes and maintains spare parts requirements for critical turbomachinery
  • Creates turnaround scope documents for turbomachinery overhauls
  • Participates in turnaround work execution with QA/QC, hold point witnessing, ensuring proper documentation is kept, and ensuring reliable return to service
  • Provides technical input for turbomachinery upgrade projects, including rerates
  • Provides technical troubleshooting and repair support for site turbomachinery
  • Input recommendations into APM/Meridium and validate work order history for turbomachinery
  • Provides SME assistance to corporate central engineering and other CPChem sites as needed and requested
  • Provides backfill support to area Rotating Equipment Reliability Analysts or Engineers as needed and available for vacation and training relief

Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 15 years of experience with Turbomachinery or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience with Turbomachinery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to serve a broad range of company employees, plant leaders, project teams, and engineering contractors
  • Experience in rotating equipment root cause failure analysis
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time
  • Ability to prioritize work to align with goals
