Job Summary
The program coordinator is responsible for providing sexual and reproductive health counseling to adolescents. Manage day-to-day functions for two part-time Health Resource Centers.
Essential Functions
- Provide inclinic patient counseling support for medical providers and maintain own patient base; provides clients with information on sexual and reproductive health and related topics. Utilize motivational interviewing and other counseling strategies to promote behavior change; create risk reduction plans; and provide screening services for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and HIV.
- Facilitate the use of comprehensive health services and other health and social services through promotion/marketing and appropriate referrals; works to identify and remove barriers to access for students.
- Effectively communicates and creates activities to reinforce the goals of the HRC program: 1) Delaying the onset of sexual activity in adolescent, 2) Reducing the of STDs, HIV, and unintended teen pregnancy, 3) Encourage consistent condom use among sexually active students, 4) Provide students with tools to develop health decisionmakings skills around sexuality, 5) Equip students with the tools to build healthy relationships.
- Develops and implements a marketing plan and conducts outreach activities within the school and community to increase awareness of HRC services; working alone or with an intern to conduct workshops and classroom education sessions.
- Attends monthly HRC meetings and periodic inservice trainings; maintains complete and accurate records of all services via the HRC database, PVA, and internal spreadsheet; ensure adequate effort is made to contact students with positive STI results to receive treatment and counseling.
- Implement and manage the Social Networking Initiative as required by the grant; identify creative ways to encourage participating in the program by accessing the network of highrisk patients.
- Work with the Program Director to identify community partnership opportunities, promote FP services within the hospital and in the surrounding community; maintain communication with community agencies regarding special initiatives, services, and marketing programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Associate Degree or Equivalent.

- A minimum of 1 or more years in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of paid professional experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a reproductive health setting.
- One year experience in STI knowledge.
