As an Application Engineer (Relaibility), you ' ll build and release reliable software and infrastructure systems at scale for the Digital Payments wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, COF - Amazon, COF Paypal to start.

By partnering with enterprise-wide teams, you'll develop and maintain full stack solutions that fit our business needs. Architect, analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to production
Tends to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work related tasks, directs the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers, and helps them continue to grow
Contributes to and leads technology communities at Discover

Bachelors – Computer Science
~3+ Years – Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related
~ Solid understanding of Networking and Linux fundamentals

Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java or Ruby and shell scripting.

Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience with alerting and monitoring tools(AppD, Kibana, DataDog) and building standards.
Experience as part of an Agile engineering or development team.

Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar; Proven skills in high availability and scalability design, as well as performance monitoring.
