- Conducting research in aerospace composite materials and manufacturing including autoclave processing, OOA, RTM, AFP, compression molding, stamping etc., including design and build of equipment for composite fabrication.
- Interfacing with customers representing our products and helping customers understand how to properly process our materials into state-of-the-art composite parts, and producing demonstrators using Hexcel products.
- Interacting with academia, customers, attending professional conferences on a regular basis as a subject matter expert on Hexcel's products.
- Evaluating customer proposal requests and authoring requests for information and quotes, investigating new processing technologies, staying current with the literature, and publish scientific papers.
- Relevant degree in composite field such as mechanical engineering, composites engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering or aerospace engineering with significant industrial experience in composite materials and processing techniques, preferably in aerospace part manufacturing. PhD with 3+ years of experience, master's degree with 5+ years of experience or bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Must have hands on experience building composite parts with various techniques such as OOA, RTM, AFP, hand layup and compression molding, stamp forming etc.
- Preference given for individuals with aerospace composite experience including composite design, composite tool design, or automation.
- Must be a self-starter, able to communicate technical information to experts and non-experts, work cross functionally with other R&T and business teams, interact with customers, peers, and academia.

Hexcel is currently seeking a Sr. R&T Composites Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location.
