Your training:


In our three-year vocational training, we prepare you for the exciting and responsible role as a Heilerziehungspfleger*in (special needs caregiver).

After your training, you will work in residential areas, outpatient services, special needs schools, or workshops for people with disabilities.

You will support and assist people with disabilities in participating in society as independently as possible.

3-year vocational training with integrated practical internship
2 days of classes at the vocational school
15-20 hours per week of internship in at least two fields of integration assistance/disability support


Requirements:
Intermediate school leaving certificate and a two-year vocational training in the social field (e.g. childcare, social assistance)
or technical college entrance qualification (Fachabitur) and 6 weeks of internship in disability support
or general university entrance qualification (Abitur) and 6 weeks of internship in disability support


Training contents:
Relationships and interaction with people with disabilities
Importance of health care and nursing
Tools and methods of Heilerziehungspflege
Support, education, and assistance for people with disabilities
Consultation with family members, legal guardians, or caregivers
Team processes and work organization


Completion:
State-recognized Heilerziehungspflegerin/state-recognized Heilerziehungspfleger

Optional:
Technical college entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
