Duties:


  • Discern customer inquiries to provide accurate information or transfer to appropriate staff.
  • Provide general personnel support to a unit and serve as a pointofcontact regarding human resources related matters.
  • Identify, restructure, and recommend ways to improve administrative and clerical office procedures and processes.
  • Prepare travel requests and vouchers for travel, and advise on travel allowances and requirements to ensure adherence to travel regulations.
  • Establish, maintain, and revise the office filing system in accordance with established file codes and record retention guidelines.
  • Ensure property transfer forms are completed, inventories are conducted, and accountable property is safeguarded.
  • Provide budget tracking and oversight for the unit including running necessary financial and tracking reports.
  • Provide training and advisory services to unit personnel to ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience Requirement:


GS-07: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as
two or more of the following:

Providing clerical and administrative support and assistance for a unit; and/or Processing travel vouchers, scheduling travel accommodations, and submitting documents for signature, approval, and payment; and/or Using automated software to produces reports, correspondence, and other written documents in draft form; and/or Coordinating and liaising with staff on technical issues.

One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position.

For example, Business or Public Administration, Industrial Management, Computer Science, or Communication. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

An appropriate combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience.
