The
Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) is one of the largest practice-oriented universities in Bavaria and covers a wide range of subjects in the fields of technology, social and economic sciences, design, and languages.

We support around 9,300 students in more than 50 degree programs on their educational path.

We meet overall societal challenges such as the energy transition or the climate crisis with an innovative and international study program.

We have been pioneers in the conception of bilingual degree programs (TWIN programs), the establishment of the first undergraduate degree program in hydrogen technology, and the software-centered degree program in robotics.

In addition, digitization is a key focus for our university.

As part of the High-Tech Agenda Bavaria, the Free State of Bavaria is currently investing significantly in further expanding our university as part of the Bavarian AI network.

This will create a Center for Strong Artificial Intelligence at the Würzburg campus and a Center for Robotics at the Schweinfurt campus.

Our more than 260 professors are not only passionate about teaching, but also conduct applied research in collaboration with companies, institutions, and social organizations in the region.

The successful transfer of knowledge to industry and society is just as important to our professors as interdisciplinary collaboration in ten faculties and 16 research institutes.

They are supported by around 570 employees in science, technology, and administration.
