Description

Duties:


  • Identifies improperly functioning parts for repair or replacement using onboard computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment.
  • Determine whether parts should be cleaned or replaced. Install, adjust and set automotive systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and tests the completed product.
  • Knowledge of the various techniques for removing, replacing, cleaning and installing parts and components. Skill to make adjustments and settings and in the operation of tools and equipment used.
  • Understanding of diagnostic and test equipment; the makeup and operation of systems and their interrelationship.
  • Decides on the methods and techniques to use. Supervisor is available for assistance with unusual problems. Work is reviewed in terms of results obtained.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Successfully complete an occupational health screening.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all preemployment checks in accordance with AR 2153, para.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.

  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds (occasionally, move object over 50 pounds with assistance or with mechanical devices)
  • 2. Possess a. valid motor vehicle operators permit.
  • 3. Have work experience performing the identified duties.
  • 4. Be able to work independently.

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

FWS Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular fulltime, regular parttime (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled nonovertime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled nonovertime hours of work occur between the hours of

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Nonforeign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
