Our department is responsible for the development of the Common Powertrain Controller (CPC) family, which is used in vehicles worldwide by Daimler Truck AG.

Our core competency is the development of innovative systems for drivetrain and vehicle control, with the majority of software being developed in-house.

Our expertise covers all technologies from conventional drivetrains to battery-electric and hydrogen-based drives.

As part of the CPC Safety Functions team, we work closely together to ensure compliance with the functional safety standard (ISO26262) for the control unit.

This includes model-based development of the monitoring module PMC2 and its validation on HiL/vehicle.

Our interfaces are diverse and include the control unit supplier, project management, developers of nominal functions, and our global partners at development sites worldwide.

Some of the challenges you will face in this role include:
You will be a Component Safety Engineer and develop safety functions for the CPC control unit
You will review requirements for the CPC control unit from the functional safety concepts
You will design the technical safety concept for the CPC control unit, formulate requirements, and coordinate with internal colleagues
You will test the safety functions on HiL and vehicle and release them for series production
You will coordinate activities with our supplier to ensure compliance with functional safety requirements
