Our mission in forensic psychiatry is to improve and secure the lives of people who have become criminal due to existing psychiatric or addiction disorders.

Over 300 nursing and 100 therapeutic professionals contribute to achieving the individual rehabilitation goals of our patients as best as possible, thus enabling them to live a crime-free life.

Currently, approximately 400 patients are being treated in 23 units, an outpatient clinic, and a forensic therapy center. The legal basis for treatment is provided by the Hamburg Forensic Psychiatry Act.

The treatment process in forensic psychiatry is divided into admission and initial diagnostics, profession-specific treatment planning and implementation, risk analysis, and risk management.
