JOB SUMMARY:


The Development Associate works under the Development Director's supervision and is responsible for supporting C4K's growth and engagement strategies in the South Bay.

This versatile position involves assisting with fundraising initiatives, distributing, and updating content across digital media channels, planning, and executing events, and maintaining relationships with volunteers.

The Development Associate plays a critical role in expanding C4K's audience and strengthening community relationships through the agency's service areas (2 & 8).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Job Duties:


  • Uphold the mission and core values of Counseling4Kids.
  • Update and maintain the grant, outreach, and social media calendars.
  • Maintain accurate records within donor and volunteer databases, SharePoint sites, workflows, and project management systems.
  • Maintain and organize outreach and marketing supplies.
  • Attend internal and external meetings documenting highlights, deliverables, agreements, opportunities, and next steps.
  • Manage and execute direct mail campaigns.
  • Ability to create digital assets within brand style/tone guidelines and incorporate feedback into revised work.
  • Source stock images or other photography as needed.
  • Upload and monitor content across social media platforms.
  • Participate in all Fundraising Events and Campaigns including event planning, coordination of logistics, communications, setup of events through tear down
  • Assists with event sponsorship requests to businesses, corporations, vendors and communitybased organizations
  • Conduct research related to current projects and upcoming events.
  • Collaborate with the team to highlight recent programs, partnerships, and events.
  • Interact with various external contacts and volunteers on behalf of the Development Department.

Note:

In the event that the Agency requests the regular usage of bilingual skills, the passing score of 70% on a proficiency test is required to receive a monthly bilingual stipend; per the Agency's Bilingual Stipend Policy.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:


  • Superior communication both verbally and written and able to listen and write clearly and analytically
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to relate oneonone and in groups with confidence, empathy and poise
  • Superb Time Management and Organizational Skills, with an ability to prioritize, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • At least 2 years of experience managing Department and/or Administrative Level schedules
  • High level of comfort with the internet and technology, especially social media
  • Must have working experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, InDesign.
  • Experience in taking and editing photos and videos with iPhone/iPad.
  • Punctual and proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Event planning and hospitality
  • Experience in branding, typography, and multimedia projects is highly valued.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of an A.A./A.S. degree in Communication, Marketing or related to Social Services industry.
  • 2 years of experience working/volunteering for a nonprofit organization.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly; both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfort with technology and adaptability to new digital tools and platforms that enhance communication and development efforts.
