Research Associate for the Project "HIMBASS Hierarchical Imaging of Biofilms at Synchrotron Sources" - 28 Subsection 3 HmbHG

Start Date:

As soon as possible, fixed for a period of three years (This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act [Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG]).

Scope of Work:
Part-time, 50% of standard work hours per week


Responsibilities:


From the start date until December 31, 2026, the duties of this position will primarily involve academic services for the above-mentioned project.

From January 1, 2027 until May 31, 2027, the duties will primarily include teaching and research.

The Research Associate may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications, as well as doctoral studies outside of working duties.


General Information on the Research Training Group:
The HIMBASS Project aims to advance experimental techniques for studying microbial communities through advanced imaging and X-ray based methodologies. This project will analyze the structural composition and architecture of single and multispecies biofilms on a nanoscale.
