Description

The job involves the entire process of geodata management.

Your responsibilities include conducting surveys or obtaining geographic information from other providers to acquire digital and analog geodata, as well as processing the data using specialized software to create maps, graphics, three-dimensional representations, or multimedia applications.

Training Process:
The training program lasts for a total of 3 years.

During this time, you will learn various skills and knowledge necessary for your future job, such as:

Collecting and obtaining geodata
Modeling and visualizing geodata
Creating maps, presentation graphics, and multimedia products
Using information and communication technologies
Operating computercontrolled measuring devices
Providing customeroriented services

Practical Training:

This will take place at the Office for Geoinformation, Real Estate, and Cadastre, and possibly at other specialized departments within the Bochum city administration.

Theoretical Training:

First year: Block training at the FritzHenssler Vocational College in Dortmund
Following years: Specific qualifications for Geomatics at the Cuno Vocational College II in Hagen twice a week
Alternatively: All three years of theoretical training can be completed at the Cuno Vocational College II in Hagen

Completion:

Upon completion of the training program, you will be qualified to work in various departments within the Bochum city administration, as well as in the private sector.

You also have the option to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Science
