We are looking for a full-time hours/week) Technical Assistant (m/f/d) to join our team at the ZEMOS research center at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) on August 15, 2024.

This is an indefinite position.

Your responsibilities:

Working with various spectrometers and other complex scientific instruments and training users on how to use them (UV-VIS, DLS, IR, FTIR, fluorescence)
Organizing and conducting maintenance on central equipment and installations at ZEMOS
Conducting and analyzing chemical and electrochemical experiments, and writing reports
Working with inert gas and handling hazardous substances safely
Assisting with occupational safety, helping to create risk assessments and related instructions
Transporting and handling heavy loads (gas cylinders)
Collaborating with international scientists in German and English

Your profile:

Completed training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or equivalent (e.g. Physical-Technical Assistant, Chemical Laboratory Technician with relevant experience, etc.)
Willingness to work in an international team and support research processes (p
